Terms
Terms of Service
Effective April 28, 2026. These terms govern your use of the Shruvi website, downloads, and desktop application. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance
Using Shruvi means you agree to these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Shruvi, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. "Shruvi," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Shruvi service.
2. Eligibility
Age and capacity
You must be at least 13 years old to use Shruvi (or 16 if you are in a jurisdiction that requires it). If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use Shruvi only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the service, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
3. The service
What Shruvi is today
Shruvi is a proprietary desktop dictation product. It is currently offered as a beta service. Features may change, improve, or be removed as the product evolves. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time, with or without notice, to the extent permitted by law.

4. Accounts
You are responsible for your account
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and take responsibility for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that are used abusively, fraudulently, or in ways that threaten the security, reliability, or lawful operation of the service.
5. Acceptable use
Rules for using Shruvi
When you use Shruvi, you agree that you will not:
- Record or transcribe another person's speech without their consent. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable wiretap, eavesdropping, or privacy laws in your jurisdiction.
- Dictate or submit protected health information (PHI), payment card data, government-issued identification numbers, or other regulated data. Shruvi is not HIPAA-covered and is not intended for regulated data workflows.
- Use the service to break the law, infringe intellectual property, defame others, or violate anyone's privacy or rights.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract the source code of the service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or abuse the service, its infrastructure, or its update pipeline.
- Use Shruvi or the outputs it produces to develop, train, or evaluate a competing machine-learning model or dictation product.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the application or any part of the service without our written permission.
- Use the service in a way that interferes with security, reliability, or fair access for other users.
6. Your content
Who owns what you dictate
You keep ownership of the audio you record and the text Shruvi produces from it ("Your Content"). By using the service, you grant Shruvi a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, securing, and supporting the service (for example, to run transcription, sync your history across devices, and respond to support requests).
Shruvi does not use Your Content to train its own models. See the Privacy Policy for how audio and transcripts are handled, including retention.
7. AI accuracy disclaimer
Transcription and cleanup may be wrong
Shruvi uses machine-learning systems to transcribe speech and clean up text. These systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading output, even when results look fluent and detailed. You are responsible for reviewing transcribed text before relying on it, especially in contexts where errors could have legal, financial, medical, or safety consequences. Shruvi makes no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any output.
8. Beta and availability
The service is provided "as is"
Shruvi is a beta product. It may contain bugs, downtime, or behavior changes. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shruvi is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or trade usage.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
9. Billing
No live billing today
Shruvi is currently free during beta. There is no active checkout flow today. If paid plans launch later, Shruvi will publish pricing, billing terms, and any refund, renewal, or cancellation policies before charges are possible. Continued use of paid features after pricing is published will be subject to the billing terms in effect at that time.
10. Intellectual property
Our rights
Shruvi, its software, designs, logos, branding, documentation, and related materials are the property of Shruvi or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights in the software and do not grant you any right to redistribute, resell, or create derivative works of the service, except as expressly permitted by law.
Feedback you voluntarily send us may be used without restriction to improve the service.
11. Termination
Ending your use of the service
You may stop using Shruvi and delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your access with reasonable notice if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk of harm or legal exposure, or if your account has been inactive for an extended period.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute resolution — will survive.
12. Liability
Limits
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shruvi and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Shruvi in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Indemnification
Your responsibility for misuse
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Shruvi from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the service in violation of these Terms, (b) content you dictate or submit, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right, including any failure to obtain consent required to record or transcribe another person's speech.
14. Governing law and disputes
How disputes are handled
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved in the courts located in India, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction and venue.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief to protect its intellectual property rights. If you are a consumer, you may have additional rights under the mandatory laws of your country of residence that cannot be overridden by this clause — those rights continue to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
Updates
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate. Your continued use of Shruvi after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
